Permanently attached to trap for easy handling. Prevents the animal from
knocking the trap over. Speeds your setting time. Easier to conceal than other
staking methods. Perfect for setting those hard-to-reach deep channels and dens.
Instructions
for Installing the Berkshire 110 Stabilizer Stakes
1. Remove the jaw rivet, on the trap, that is opposite of the spring. In most
cases you can punch it out using a hammer and punch or it can be drilled out.
2. Place the stabilizer stake in the hole where the rivet was. Note: on some
traps you may have to increase this hole a little by using a ¼ drill or round
file.
3. Put the nut and tighten it so that there is still a little free play between
the jaws. Remember, it will get tighter if the trap gets rusted. If you over
tighten the nut, the jaws may not close when the trap is set off. Do not over
tighten this nut.
4. Treat the trap with whatever type of dye you prefer
