Iverson Ojibwa 11 X 56 Rawhide Snowshoes 240lb Capacity
Iverson's version of the ancient design is now more popular than ever. The pointed nose knifes through snow and underbrush. This hand crafted classic is available in either ballistic neoprene or traditional rawhide lacing. An heirloom that you can use. Harness sold separately.
The Iverson Ojibwa 11 x 56 Snowshoe has a 240 lb. Capacity.
Hand crafted in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Warranted for 5 years. Made with only select northern white ash frames.
Iversons Snowshoe & Furniture is proud to announce the new Ultra Lite Snowshoe, made with a Ballistic Nylon Neoprene. This new neoprene is more durable and lightens the weight of the shoe by 30%!
Iversons Snowshoes are made in America by Americans in the small town of Shingleton located in the Central Upper Peninsula of Michigan's snow country.
Iversons still makes the traditional wooden snowshoes the same as they have for over 40 years (a process which was derived from the Native Americans.) This intensive process starts with a white ash log, which is cut down to what are called sticks, these sticks are then placed in a steamer to give the wood more flexibility. The snowshoe is then bent around a form and then placed in a dry kiln overnight. Once this process is done the tedious task of lacing the shoes starts. You can get Iversons snowshoes with the traditional rawhide or the more durable neoprene. The one unique factor that sets Iversons snowshoes apart from other snowshoe makers, is our shoes are dipped in a snowshoe lacquer that prevents snow from sticking to the shoes.
Although Iversons is known nationwide for it's traditional craftsmanship of their snowshoes, they also have a unique line of Furniture as well as Trout Fishing Nets. I had the pleasure of visiting in the summer of 2010 the Iverson's Factory in Shingleton, Michigan and was glad to see the improvements and new ideas coming from America's Premier Snowshoe Maker. At www.pcsoutdoors.com we look forward to adding the great new Iverson Snowshoes and solute the Iverson Snowshoe Company for not exporting the work for this traditional product oversees. And remember Traditional Wood Frame Snowshoes make great rustic decoration in the off season.
