5/8” English flints, the best sparking stone available, hand knapped for a dependable shower of sparks.
To Load: Wrap the body of the flint in a piece of leather and place the jaws in jaws of the hammer. Press the flint against the upper jaw, while tightening the top jaw screw. Keep the sharp edge up on the top of jaws when securing flint for best spark.

Tip: have extra flints available when in the field.
